💡Potenue Tip

Master the “No-Limit” Challenge: Because the HENNGE coding challenge has no time limit, the evaluators are looking for more than just code that “works.” They are testing your engineering discipline.

Potenue’s advice: Treat your submission like a real production PR. Use clean variable name, include a README, write unit tests, and document your architectural choices. In a rolling application process, “high-quality code” beats “fast code” every single time.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

1. Is the internship really unpaid?

Technically, yes. However, it is “fully subsidized.” HENNGE covers your flights, medical insurance, and provides a monthly allowance that covers your accommodation and food in Tokyo.

2. I applied before and didn’t get in. Can I re-apply?

Yes! You can re-apply, but HENNGE recommends waiting 9–12 months to show significant growth in your skills. Note: You must use a different email address to register, as each email is tied to a specific “token” for the coding challenge.

3. What is the coding challenge like?

It is a real-world problem involving API requests and data manipulation. For Full Stack, expect to work with Go or Python. For Front-end, you’ll be tested on your framework knowledge.

4. Do I need to be a student?

You should be a 3rd-year undergraduate or higher (Master’s/PhD). Recent graduates are also eligible and highly encouraged to apply!
