If you are an Indian youth under 30 with a passion for social change, UNESCO MGIEP Youth Fellowship is your 10-day “power move” to the global stage. Hosted at Kyung Hee University in South Korea, this immersive fellowship is looking for the next generation of leaders to tackle peacebuilding, digital innovation, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Today is April 23, 2026. You have roughly 48 hours before the deadline on April 25 to secure a fully funded flight to Seoul.
The “Zero-Cost” Reality: What’s Covered?
Unlike many “Global Summits” that charge hidden registration fees, the UNESCO MGIEP Youth Fellowship is truly merit-based and fully funded for the selected cohort.
| Benefit | Coverage Status |
| Application Fee | $0 (Strictly free) |
| Round-trip Flight | Fully Covered (India to South Korea) |
| Visa Expenses | Fully Covered |
| Accommodation | Included (Kyung Hee University campus) |
| Meals & Daily Expenses | Included (Full board for 10 days) |
1. Eligibility Check: Do You Fit the Profile?
- Nationality: Must be a Citizen of India currently residing in India.
- Age: Must be under 30 years old on June 25, 2026.
- Education: Must have completed your undergraduate degree before the fellowship begins.
- Availability: Must be able to attend the full in-person program from June 25 to July 4, 2026.
2. The Selection Secret: What Judges Want
Selection isn’t just about your grades; it’s about your vision. The committee is looking for:
- Coherence: Can you clearly bridge your past social work/activism with the lessons you’ll learn in Korea?
- Action-Orientation: They want “doers,” not just theorists. How will you apply these peacebuilding skills in India?
- Diverse Voices: Applicants from all backgrounds, including persons with disabilities, are highly prioritized.
3. Document Checklist (Deadline: April 25, 2026)
You must submit your application via the official Google Form (emails will be ignored). Have these ready:
- Statement of Purpose (SOP): Your “Why” and your “Impact Plan.”
- 2-Page Resume: Focus on leadership, volunteering, and community projects.
- Two Recommendation Letters: From professors or professional supervisors.
- Degree Certificate: A copy of your latest University degree.
Potenue Roadmap to Crack It
- The “Local to Global” Hook: In your SOP, start with a specific local problem in India (e.g., digital misinformation or community conflict) and explain why the South Korean perspective on “Social Innovation” is the missing piece you need.
- The Time Zone Trap: The deadline is 11:59 PM IST on April 25. Do not wait until the final hour; the server often slows down with last-minute traffic.
- Reference Speed-Run: Since you only have 2 days, call your referees now. If they are busy, offer to draft a “template” for them to review and sign to save them time.
- Visa Readiness: Ensure your passport has at least 6 months validity from June 2026. If it’s expiring soon, mention your renewal plan in the application.
