What is ISFiT?
ISFiT (International Student Festival in Trondheim) is the world’s largest international student festival with a thematic focus. The theme for 2027 is “Changing Winds,” exploring global political changes, climate action, and how youth shape regional realities.
Selected participants attend thematic workshops, plenary sessions, debate panels, and cultural performances at Studentersamfundet in Trondheim.
Who Can Apply? (Global Eligibility)
Yes! Applications are open to students from every country in the world.
- Student Status: You must be actively enrolled in a higher education program (bachelor’s, master’s, or Ph.D.) during the Spring 2027 semester.
- Age Limit: No upper age limit, provided you are at least 18 years old and hold valid student enrollment.
- English Proficiency: IELTS or TOEFL scores are NOT required. However, you must be comfortable speaking English as all workshops and events are conducted in English.

ISFiT is a partially funded gathering. Here is how expenses break down:
What ISFiT Pays For (Free):
- Accommodation: Host families or local student housing in Trondheim.
- Meals: All breakfast, lunch, and dinner provisions for 10 days.
- Festival Access: Concerts, workshops, and conference passes.
What You Need to Budget For (Out-of-Pocket):
- Airfare & Travel: Flights to Trondheim (TRD) are self-funded by default. (Note: You can apply for a need-based airfare grant directly inside the application form).
- Schengen Visa Fee: If required to visit Norway, you must cover the visa processing cost (ISFiT provides an official invitation letter for your visa application).
- Health/Travel Insurance: Travel and health insurance coverage is required at your own expense.

- Submit Motivation Statements: Answer short essay questions about your motivation, background, and perspective on the “Changing Winds” theme.
- Upload Proof of Student Status: Upload your student enrollment certificate or official student ID card valid for 2026–2027.
