Eligibility Criteria & Age Limit
- Target Audience: Students, researchers, young professionals, military personnel, and early-career academics specializing in security, defense, or international affairs.
- Age Limit: Must be 35 years old or younger.
- Membership Requirement: Membership in YATA Germany is not required to apply.
Who Can Apply? Eligible Countries
To be eligible, applicants must hold citizenship in either a NATO Member Country or a Partnership for Peace (PfP) Member Country.
1. NATO Member Countries (32 Nations)
- North America: Canada, United States
- Northern Europe: Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Sweden
- Western Europe: Belgium, France, Germany, Luxembourg, Netherlands, United Kingdom
- Central & Eastern Europe: Bulgaria, Croatia, Czechia (Czech Republic), Hungary, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia
- Southern Europe & Eurasia: Albania, Greece, Italy, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Portugal, Spain, Türkiye
2. Partnership for Peace (PfP) Countries
- Western & Central Europe: Austria, Ireland, Malta, Switzerland
- Eastern Europe & Caucasus: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Republic of Moldova, Ukraine
- The Balkans: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia
- Central Asia: Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan
Can International or Indian Applicants Apply?
- Indian Citizens: No. India is neither a NATO member nor a Partnership for Peace (PfP) partner state, so Indian citizens residing in India are not eligible to apply (unless they hold dual citizenship with an eligible NATO/PfP member nation).
- Other Regions: Citizens from Africa, South America, the Middle East, and non-PfP Asia-Pacific nations are generally not eligible.
