What Is the Young Professionals Program?
The Young Professionals Program is designed for high-performing early-career professionals who want to contribute to sustainable development across Asia and the Pacific.
Selected Young Professionals begin their careers at ADB Headquarters in Manila and may work across different areas through rotational assignments, gaining exposure to development operations, policy and international finance.
This is a paid professional position, not a scholarship or unpaid fellowship.

Who Can Apply?
You may be eligible if you:
- Are a national of an ADB member country.
- Are 32 years old or younger upon joining.
- Hold at least a first-level university degree.
- Have at least 3 years of relevant professional experience.
- Have strong written and verbal English-language skills.
- Have professional experience relevant to ADB’s areas of work.
Relevant backgrounds can include areas such as:
- Economics and development
- Climate change
- Finance
- Energy
- Public health
- Urban development and planning
- Infrastructure
- Public policy
- Other fields relevant to development work
A master’s or PhD can be an advantage, but a postgraduate degree is not the minimum education requirement.
