Important: You Cannot Apply Directly
The FRT Awards follow a two-step nomination process.
Step 1: Get Nominated by Your University
You must first participate in the internal nomination process at your eligible home university.
Step 2: Apply to ANU
Students who are officially nominated receive the required nomination details or application link and can then submit their application to ANU.
So if you’re interested, don’t wait until the final hours. Contact your university’s international office or relevant nomination coordinator immediately.
Financial Support
Selected students receive an AUD $8,500 financial award.
The grant is intended to help with costs such as:
- Return international airfare
- Visa expenses
- Travel insurance
- Accommodation
- Basic living expenses in Canberra
Any expenses exceeding the award amount are the student’s responsibility.
