Program Details for Schuman Traineeships
- Role: Trainee within various Directorates-General (Communication, Law, IT, Foreign Affairs, etc.).
- Duration: 5 months (Fixed term).
- Location: Primarily Brussels (Belgium) or Luxembourg; some spots in Liaison Offices across EU member states.
- Stipend: Approximately €1,889 per month (adjusted for local cost of living in Liaison Offices).
Eligibility Criteria
- Age: Must be 18 years or older.
- Education: Must hold a university-level diploma (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent).
- Language: Thorough knowledge of one official EU language and very good knowledge of a second (English, French, or German are highly recommended).
- Background Check: Candidates must provide an extract from their judicial record (criminal record check).
International Applicants
- Is it open to international people? Yes. While the majority of spots go to EU citizens, about 10% of the intake is reserved for non-EU/international applicants.
Deadlines
- October 2026 Intake: Apply by 31st May 2026.
- March 2027 Intake: Apply between 1st October and 31st October 2026.
