Program Details: Just Tech Fellowship 2027
- Role: Independent Fellow (Researcher, Artist, Journalist, or Technologist).
- Duration: 1 Year (January 2027 – December 2027).
- Focus: Intersection of technology and society (e.g., AI ethics, digital rights, platform accountability, and social justice).
- Funding: $60,000 unrestricted award + additional seed funding (up to $5,000) for collaborative projects.
Eligibility Criteria
- Age/Experience: Open to individuals with a demonstrated track record of impactful work. There are no formal degree requirements.
- Professions: Social scientists, humanists, artists, technologists, journalists, and community-based researchers.
- Student Status: Full-time students are ineligible.
- Language: All application materials must be submitted in English.
International Applicants
- Is it open to international people? Yes. Citizens of any country may apply.
- The Residency Rule: Selected fellows must reside in the United States for the duration of the fellowship year.
- Visa Note: The SSRC does not sponsor visas. International applicants must independently secure a legal pathway to reside in the U.S. (e.g., O-1, H-1B, or Green Card).
