Overview
How much does an unsafe bus ride or a flooded road cost a woman’s income? The RIDE Women in Transport Research Grants 2026, part of RIDE’s Women’s Economic Empowerment in Transport call, will fund at least two research projects at £150,000 to £200,000 each to find out, and to put the evidence in front of decision-makers.
University and research-institute teams anywhere in the world can apply by 20 November 2026.
What Will You Do?
- Research either violence against women and girls in transit and its effect on women’s income and jobs, or climate-related transport disruption and women’s economic loss.
- Engage decision-makers from the start so findings feed into policy.
- Complete the project within the funded period.

What Are the RIDE Women in Transport Research Grants 2026?
RIDE (Research on Infrastructure in Developing Economies) is funding research on how transport shapes women’s economic opportunities. Each project must focus on one partner country and on one of two themes. A clear uptake plan, naming the decision-makers and policy windows you’ll reach, carries the most weight (30%) in evaluation.
