Funding & Cost Details
- 100% Fully Funded: Mitacs covers all major costs associated with the 12-week internship in Canada, including:
- Round-trip airfare to Canada
- Accommodation stipend
- Airport transfer
- Daily food and living expenses stipend
- Emergency health insurance
- University enrollment and student fees stipend
- $0 Application Fee: There are no application, processing, or registration charges to apply.
- Small Catch: Applicants are responsible for upfront visa/eTA application fees and any document translation costs (if transcripts are not in English or French).
Who Can Apply? (Global & Indian Eligibility)
- Indian Applicants: Fully eligible! Co-funded through partner networks like AICTE, students from eligible Indian universities can apply provided they meet the minimum 70% CGPA / equivalent requirement.
- International Applicants: Open to undergraduate students from 22 partner countries and regions (including the US, UK, Germany, France, Brazil, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Mexico, and more).
- Degree Requirements: Must be enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or integrated Master’s program with 1 to 3 semesters remaining in their degree as of Fall 2027.
- Language Proficiency: Strong written and spoken English or French proficiency is required (No mandatory IELTS or TOEFL required).
Deadlines & Program Timeline
- Application Deadline: September 16, 2026 (at 1:00 PM Pacific Time).
- Internship Duration: 12 consecutive weeks between May 1 and October 31, 2027.
