Overview

Applications for the intake starting in September 2027 opened on 15 October 2026. Scholarship applicants must submit a complete dossier by 15 January 2027. Euroculture does not charge an application fee.

Euroculture is an Erasmus Mundus Joint Master that looks at European identity, culture and politics from many angles. It is run by a consortium of universities in Europe and beyond, and the EU funds a limited number of full scholarships each intake.

The consortium has 11 partners: Georg-August-Universität Göttingen (Germany), Rijksuniversiteit Groningen (Netherlands), Università degli Studi di Udine (Italy), Université de Strasbourg (France), Univerzita Palackého v Olomouci (Czechia), Uniwersytet Jagielloński w Krakowie (Poland), Uppsala Universitet (Sweden), the University of Hyderabad (India), Queen’s University (Canada), Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (Mexico) and the University of Osaka (Japan).

As an Erasmus Mundus student, you study in more than one country. The exact mobility plan depends on the universities you are placed with, and start dates differ between European partners from year to year.

The number of scholarships for the 2027 intake is not published by the host.

What Will You Do?

  • Study European culture, identity and politics in an interdisciplinary programme.
  • Move between partner universities as part of the Erasmus Mundus mobility rule.
  • Work on research and academic writing throughout the two years.
  • Join a cohort drawn from many countries.

Is the Euroculture Erasmus Mundus Scholarship a good fit?

It suits graduates in the humanities and social sciences who want to work in European affairs, culture, research or international organisations. A strong writing sample matters, because the consortium asks for one with every application.
